Kings Bay subs earn Battle "E"

USS Florida (SSGN 728) and USS Rhode Island (SSBN 740) took top honors in 2007, each earning the Battle Efficiency (Battle "E") Award. The Battle E is awarded to a command that exhibits the highest state of battle readiness. Compass puts spouses on right path
Being a Navy spouse is not an easy task. Even with training, it can be a cumbersome and lonely road; leaving the spouse feeling lost or overwhelmed. Thankfully, a former Kings Bay spouse has developed a program to guide spouses down the right path. The Compass class is a mentorship program for spouses that hands out information to assist spouses.

Personnel support contact center demonstration scheduled
In late March 2008, the Navy Pay and Personnel Support Services (PASS) program will begin conducting initial testing of the use of a "contact center" to deliver services currently handled by Personnel Support Detachments (PSDs). This first phase, which is known as a "viability demonstration," will allow current PSD staff members to make use of state-of-the-art contact center technology to deliver services for gains, leave and special pay and allowance transactions for a portion of the customers currently served by the PSDs in Jacksonville, Mayport and Kings Bay. The following commands that were selected to participate in the test:

If you buy from a car lot, there is a bill of sale or contract to prove ownership of the vehicle. If you buy your friend's hoopty, you need something other than the title and a handshake to prove the heap is yours.
