CDC earns national accreditation

Providing quality child care has always been a top priority for the Child Development Center nestled among the pines in family housing. Last week, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredited the center for possessing the standards and criteria to sustain quality early childhood programs over time. Fitness Center welcomes fitness coordinator
The Fitness Staff at Kings Bay has a new member - Ms. Tanya Henigman. She hails from New Mexico where she worked in public education promoting fitness and wellness in elementary, middle school and college levels. Her education is in the field of Exercise Science and she holds accredited certifications from The Cooper Institute, AFAA, IFPA, Reebok and Turbo Kick.

Base using burns to prevent fires
It is that time again, when the temperatures are cooler and the pines are in their dormant state; the perfect time for a forest fire to erupt. The NSB Kings Bay Fire Department in collaboration with the Natural Resources Department, the Georgia Forestry Commission and an experienced group of Army contractors from Fort Stewart set out to perform numerous controlled burnings of combustible dry grass and shrubbery recently in an effort to conserve the base's natural resources.


Sailors trade crows for gold bars
Highly skilled in their current jobs and adhering to the Navy Core Values of Honor, Courage and Commitment were just a few of the traits recognized as three Sailors from Kings Bay were selected to turn in their crows and anchors in exchange for gold ensign bars and a commission.
