However, once in a while some very important individuals come aboard to familiarize themselves with Kings Bay and tour one of the attached Trident-class submarines. Last week, newly appointed Executive Director of Ashore Readiness Division (OPNAV N46) Stephanie Smith received tours of the Trident Training Facility (TTF) and the USS Wyoming (SSBN 742). [ More ] Chamber of Commerce tours USS Georgia The USS Georgia (SSGN 729) said hello to the local business community in Camden County by giving tours aboard the submarine to Camden County Chamber of Commerce members March 25. The tour was a way for the USS Georgia to say thanks to the Camden County business community. MWR hosts KIDSFEST More than 1,500 kids and their parents enjoyed free food, exotic animals and fun activities for all ages at the annual KidsFest Celebration at the NSB Kings Bay Fitness Complex Tennis Courts April 5. Volunteers to pickup trash during Great American Cleanup Volunteers throughout Camden County, including Kings Bay, Kingsland, St. Marys and Woodbine, will again join forces this year April 14-19 to pickup trash alongside area streets and raise awareness about litter during the annual Great American Cleanup and the Keep Georgia Beautiful campaign. Commissary installs new self-checkout registers Customers have noticed a pleasant surprise while entering the Kings Bay Commissary recently. The addition of new registers including four self check out registers are aimed at increasing customer satisfaction and helping the military grocery store compete with other stores outside the gates of the base.
