Wildfires impacting Kings Bay Sailors

The worst wildfire in Georgia history has consumed forests, destroyed homes and displaced residents in neighboring Ware and Brantley Counties since it began April 16. Although it is more than 30 miles west of the base, the fire is affecting Sailors from Kings Bay in many ways. [ More ]

Kings Bay hosts Dolphin Scholarship Auction
Trapper John, Hawkeye, Zorro and the toga clad Delta House party mongers from Animal House were on hand to celebrate the 17th Annual Kings Bay Officer's Wives Club Silver/Gold Dolphin Scholarship Auction held April 28 at the NSB Kings Bay Fitness Center.

Navy College hosts education fair
Door prizes and the chance to get a higher education were all available at the annual education fair held April 25 at NSB Kings Bay. The fair was held to introduce civilians and Sailors as well as their family members to the Navy College Program Distance Partnership and Apprenticeship Programs.

May brings warm weather, heat stress
Most of us are glad to see warmer weather finally arrive, and we look forward to the outdoor activities that go along with this time of year. However, we must be aware that with warm weather comes the risk for heat illness.

Kings Bay hosts Special Olympics
Many happy faces, hugs and cheers were the driving force behind NSB Kings Bay's 11th Annual Georgia Area 16 Special Olympics Games April 27. More than 500 motivated Sailors, Marines, defense contractors, Moral, Welfare and Recreation Employees, and Camden County school children gathered to welcome more than 50 busses filled with young Special Olympic Athletes.
