Staying in shape is one of the most important aspects of being in the Navy due to the vigorous training and tasks that are presented to Sailors on a daily basis. DSF opens its doors to new volunteers
Service members are usually very involved with the surrounding community near their respective bases or throughout the world. This does not just stop at the service members, but the wives of the members as well. That was why more than 25 wives were on hand to volunteer their time for a good cause during the Dolphin Scholarship Foundation (DSF) open house at the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay Fellowship Hall Sept. 29.

New submarine rescue asset joins the Fleet
The Submarine Rescue Diving and Recompression System's (SRDRS) Rescue Capable System (RCS) replaced the Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle Mystic (DSRV-1) as the U.S. Navy's deep-submergence submarine rescue asset on Sept. 30. Mystic and the DSRV program began deactivation on Oct. 1.
