Credit card scam thwarted at Kings Bay

How many times have you visited a fast food restaurant and paid for your $5 value meal with your ATM or credit card? Another question to ponder is how many times have you looked at the name on your card before stuffing it in your wallet because you were in a hurry? For some Sailors and Marines, these precautions were not taken and they got caught in a scam artist's web. [ More ]


Housing survey gives Sailors chance to sound off
If you are a Sailor or Marine living in bachelor housing at Kings Bay and want to sound off about the quality of the barracks, the housing office has a tool to make sure your voice is heard. The Resident Satisfaction Survey is a program to identify the level of satisfaction customers have with the quality of services and the facilities. The inaugural survey will be personally handed out to all bachelor housing residents.


Red Cross needs volunteers
Each year, the American Red Cross responds to more than 67,000 disasters including house or apartment fires, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills transportation accidents, explosions and other natural and man-made disasters. Due to the high number of disasters each year, the Red Cross is reaching out to the public, both military and civilian, to increase the number people volunteering for them.

Kings Bay has a new pediatrician
Not having had a pediatrician for several months, the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay Branch Health Clinic finally found a local doctor with a great reputation among local and military families to fill the vacancy. Sujay G. Patel M.D. started seeing his Kings Bay baby patients Sept. 25. With the addition of Dr. Patel, the base clinic can now accommodate an additional 500 new patients per enrollment.

Kings Bay celebrates Hispanic Heritage
Oct. 4 marked the seventh annual Hispanic Heritage day of food tasting, folklore dancing and historical briefings at the NSB Kings Bay Chapel. Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 has been designated National Hispanic Heritage Month to celebrate the many contributions Hispanic Americans have made to enrich the history of the United States.
