New traffic lights to replace crossing guards

Safety has always been a top priority at Kings Bay, especially the safety of children. That is the main reason why base housing and security officials installed new cross walk lights on James Madison Street. The lights will keep children safe as they cross Madison on their way to and from Crooked River Elementary School. [ More ]


Kings Bay PPO office to close Nov. 9
Personal Property Processing Offices at NS Mayport and NSB Kings Bay will permanently close Nov. 9. This action constitutes the completion of Phase I of a Household Goods (HHG)/Personal Property Office Consolidation plan sponsored by the Naval Supply Systems Command. The outbound shipment functions performed at these offices will be fully transitioned to FISC Jacksonville's main site Personal Property Shipping Office located at building 110, NAS Jacksonville. This office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The servicemembers who make up the Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 202 are not your ordinary run-of-the-mill construction worker or maintenance crew. They are much more than that. They're always ready for emergency responses, discretionary projects, as well as performing planned and unplanned projects around Kings Bay.

Fire department is ready to answer the call
With the holidays quickly approaching, and decorations being spotted everywhere, one thing to keep in mind is safety, more importantly fire safety. According to the United States Fire Administration, each year fires occurring during the holiday season injure 2,600 individuals and cause over $930 million in damage.
